The Starting Point

SeyFerry initially launched its booking platform using WordPress and several premium plugins to support ticket booking, multilingual functionality, invoicing, and customer management.

As the business grew, the platform began facing operational and technical challenges. Customers frequently reported booking issues, creating additional support requests for the client to manage. The increasing complexity of the booking process also exposed limitations in the existing plugin-based architecture.

In addition, the client was required to continuously monitor WordPress updates, plugin compatibility, theme upgrades, and security patches. Some updates introduced unexpected issues and downtime, making platform maintenance increasingly time-consuming and difficult to manage.

After reviewing the existing platform and business requirements, we concluded that WordPress was no longer the ideal solution for the scale and complexity of the booking operations.
